Martin is a highly experienced legal professional with over 35 years' of expertise in family law. He was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in 1985. Martin's specialist practice areas encompass all aspects of family law, including relationship property, prenuptial and separation agreements, parenting/contact, adoption, Personal & Property Rights Act proceedings, child support, and more. He is also appointed by the court as Lawyer for Children and Lawyer for the Subject Person and serves as Counsel to Assist the Court. 

Raised in Hawke’s Bay, Martin began his legal career with an Auckland law firm before becoming a partner at Palmerston North’s largest legal practice. He later established his own family law firm and eventually returned to Hawke’s Bay with his family in 2005, then in 2015 joined a Hastings law firm. 

Martin's extensive experience and dedication to family law have earned him a reputation for excellence. He has held various positions connected with family law, including Chairperson of the Manawatu Family Courts Association and Executive Member of the Hawke’s Bay Family Courts Association (Incorporated). Martin advises clients in Hastings, Napier, and throughout New Zealand.
